The Gomez Orthotic Spine System is a unique method for the conservative treatment of spine deformities that stresses the importance of overall spinal balance and stability. It utilizes a thorough clinical evaluation of the deformity and the flexibility or correct-ability in all 3 planes. A computer aided design (CAD) program is used to develop the patient’s new 3D shape or correction.

Cases

Read patient testimonials who have experienced the Gomez Orthotic System.

Sara’s Case

Sarah was diagnosed with scoliosis at 5 ½ years old. At her 5-year-old check-up in April 2003, she had a routine screening for scoliosis but no curve was detected. After the first course of treatment was unsuccessful Dr. Gomez was contacted for a second opinion.

Lexi’s Case

Lexi was officially diagnosed with Infantile Idiopathic Scoliosis at one year old. Her curve was first detected at 4 months old, but dismissed as her position while the x-ray was being taken. When she was finally diagnosed we were faced with the decision of how to move forward with treatment. We initially tried serial plaster casting, but in January of 2006 we decided to try treatment with a brace and began to see Dr. Gomez.

“Remember that we are all in this for one reason and one reason alone…to find the best treatment out there for our children in hopes that they can be corrected to a position where surgery is never the answer for them” Read the full testimonial here:

Abril’s Case

Abril was 13 years old when her parents first noticed an issue with her posture. A vist to her physician confirmed a scoliosis diagnosis. After seeking treatment they were referred to Dr. Gomez. The GOS System allowed Abril to avoid surgery and correct her spinal deformity.

Lauren’s Case

Lauren’s mother is a pediatric nurse that volunteered to do all of the vision, hearing, and scoliosis screening in her daughter’s local school district, scoliosis. Her family lived overseas flew her to the US to seek treatment with Dr. Gomez.

Meredith Anne’s Case

Meredith Anne was born with a cleft lip and palate in December 2005. When she was 5 months old she was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis and had surgery at 6 months. In March 2010 Dr. Gomez first started treating Meredith with the GOS System. After two orthoses she is progressing and will continue to wear her brace to stabilize her spine.

Jessica’s Case

“Jessica is our second and youngest daughter. Because her mother Julie had scoliosis as a child and continues to suffer various symptoms from an S-curved spine, she was naturally very anxious as our two daughters approached their teenage years. Our oldest daughter, Jenna, showed no signs of curvature. She is now sixteen and appears to be completely unaffected by the condition.”
